Qualities of a Spiritual Leader

THE TWELVE QUALITIES OF A SPIRITUAL LEADER

According to Arthurian legend, these twelve qualities are ancient beyond time and were utilized by Merlin, who carefully taught them to Arthur when he was a boy as the foundation necessary for the King who would lead peoples and establish a sacred realm of abundance, joy and peace known to us in legend as Camelot. These qualities are steps we can all take which will lead us into the remembrance of levels of the ancient mysteries and of the mystical; they will lead us to depths of love and of magic forgotten by most.

We allow these twelve qualities to serve as beacons of light upon our spiritual journey.

HONESTY
To be honest without judgement. To honor.
I honor truth.

LOYALTY
To be loyal. To honor, to respect. To know one’s strength and in a moment of weakness, to be true to oneself. To be vulnerable; to expose oneself to one’s weakness as well as to one’s strength.
I am gentle and loyal to myself.

NOBILITY
To be noble. To develop the first two qualities for something greater. The noble one searches for the nobility within and beyond: Where am l going? Where have I been? Our of these one will find a sense of something larger and beyond one.
I have a sense of purpose a noble vision.

  1. VIRTUE
  2. Having power and grace to share. To look deeper. A depth of imagination. Out of sharing will come character and morality: adhering to goodness and truth. To have principles, character.
  3. I adhere to my principles with an open eye. I will do the right thing, simply because it IS the right thing.

I am true to myself and thus to others.

I live a life that represents me.

COURTESY

I openly or silently embrace you in the warmth of friendship and caring.

The heroic one. Gallantry comes out of courage and courtesy: the charismatic.

Temperance and balance. To author ones reality – authorship. I know that I create my personal reality.
I know the components of reality creation; l have clarity and focus of intent. I have authority.

The helpful one. To be of service in a helpful way.
I offer service to others with humility.

HUMBLENESS
To be in the moment, seeing with eyes that are new.
I know so much and I know that l am about to know more. Just because something has always been that way, I know that this time it can be different; I allow for that and take responsibility accordingly.
