Festival of Goodwill
On May 31, 2026, the Full Moon occurs in Gemini and marks the Festival of Goodwill, sometimes called the Festival of Humanity. This is the second full moon in May, making the 2026 Gemini Full Moon especially notable in the lunar calendar. Its focus is goodwill, human unity, right human relations, and the spiritual upliftment of humanity.
At the National Spiritual Science Center, the Festival of Goodwill was recognized through a special full moon service. Depending on when the full moon occurred, the service might be held during the week or incorporated into a Sunday service. Like other special full moon services, it included a spiritual message, music, meditation, and prayer. Full moon meditations were intended to uplift the spirit and increase awareness of spiritual energies.
The Festival of Goodwill encouraged participants to look beyond their personal concerns and focus on humanity as a whole. Through meditation and spiritual attunement, the service emphasized goodwill, healing, fellowship, and service to others. It was a time to direct positive thought and spiritual intention toward the world.
Many spiritual traditions associate the Gemini Full Moon with humanity’s ability to recognize the common spiritual thread that connects all people. The festival serves as a reminder that despite our differences, we share many of the same hopes, challenges, and aspirations.
Today, the message of the Festival of Goodwill remains as relevant as ever. In a world often divided by conflict and misunderstanding, the service reminds us of the importance of goodwill, understanding, and compassion. Whether expressed through prayer, meditation, healing work, or simple acts of kindness, goodwill remains a powerful force for positive change.
